According to the NCRB (National crime Record bureau) Data, for the recent years,number of graduate convicts in India has been increased by higher rate. This data has made me think about our education system.
They got education of knowledge but not the human values.Getting education to the mind is not a real education but to the hearts is a complete education.Nowadays, we have become very materialistic and is totally preoccupied in pursuit of material things. This excessive urge for materialistic gains has made us ignore the spiritual and moral values. A nation cannot make progress if it has lost its character. So,I would like to share why we need to give moral education to the kids at school in the basis of psychological concepts.
Defining human behavior is more complex than galaxy.Each person personality are unique.According to Psychological theory (Freud's) behavior is composed by 3 elements that are ID,ego ,super ego.
ID is the primary component of personality which is present from birth .The ID is driven by the pleasure principle, which strives for immediate gratification of all desires, wants, and needs. If these needs are not satisfied immediately, the result is a state anxiety or tension. For example, an increase in hunger or thirst should produce an immediate attempt to eat or drink.The ID is very important in infant's life. If the infant is hungry or uncomfortable, he or she will cry until the demands of the id are satisfied. Because young infants are ruled entirely by the ID, there is no reasoning with them when these needs demand satisfaction. Imagine trying to convince a baby to wait until lunchtime to eat his meal 😃😃. Instead, the id requires immediate satisfaction, and because the other components of personality are not yet present, the infant will cry until these needs are fulfilled.
When the infant grow in to toddler,kid,adolescent,adult,then they will develop ego and super ego personality component which allows them to control the ID's basic instincts ,aggression and act in ways that are both realistic and socially acceptable.
Ego personalty component strives to satisfy the ID's desires in realistic and socially appropriate ways. The reality principle weighs the costs and benefits of an action before deciding to act upon or abandon impulses.

The last component of personality to develop is the superego.The superego is the aspect of personality that holds all of our internalized moral standards and ideals that we acquire from parents,teachers and society.
The ID, ego and superego work together to create human behavior. The ID creates the demands, the ego adds the needs of reality, and the superego adds morality to the action which is taken.
For example ,There are 3 office-mates Vani,Rani,Sani.The three had the desire on office new headset. Vani stole the headset immediately in front of her manager.She fulfilled her desire immediately in the basis of ID personality.So the manager fired her. But Rani was waiting until her manager go out of the room ,then she stole that by the ego personality basis.But Sani knew that stealing was wrong, so she decided not to take anything even though she would probably never get caught. Sani behaved in the basis of super ego.
As we educated ,we know how to fulfill our desire in a safer way .Nowadays education system is teaching how to be smart rather how to be good. So that more corruption but less registered cases against corruption.The developing superego absorbs the traditions of the family and the surrounding society and serves to control aggressive or other socially unacceptable impulses. The superego continues to develop into young adulthood . Our education system has the responsibility to create strong super ego personality.If people's super ego element becomes stronger by giving moral education ,then our nation will get progress in all the sectors.
Education is not something which can be proved by certificate and degree , but can be proved by your behavior.No matter how qualified you are ; how you are behaving in the society is what Matters.
